Project Description
As a High Tech High student, we are able to connect different content areas and apply them to real life. I would like you to connect each content area to yourself. We will focus on science, technology, engineering, arts, and mathematics in this project.
Objective: Students will be able to illustrate in writing and through their chosen symbol how they see or use science, technology, engineering, arts, and mathematics in their own lives.
Product:
Students will have to make a final product that connects all of their pieces of writing and symbols that they have chosen.
Writing Component: Students should be able to write one to two paragraphs about how each of their symbols represent that certain subject matter. Students will be graded on their understanding of what each subject matter is and how the symbol is a metaphor for that content area. Students will be required to use detail and descriptive words in their writing pieces.
Science: is what exists naturally and how it is affected.
Technology: is what is human-made.
Engineering: is research and development, design & invention.
Arts: the expression or application of human creative skill and imagination through the various branches of creative activity, such as painting, music, literature, and dance.
Mathematics: The study of the measurement, properties, and relationships of quantities and sets, using numbers and symbols.
Essential Questions:
How do we use all of these mediums in real life?
Where do we see them in real life?
Why are they important and how do they relate to one another?
